Frozen Tioga Lake

Frozen Tioga Lake

While I was photographing Mammoth Peak from Tioga Lake last Monday, I decided to try some abstract/close-up photos. The first one really stuck me because of the light reflecting (slightly) on the melting snow.

Since I was staring at Mammoth Peak, I just had to take some pictures of the floating ice. You can see Mammoth Peak reflecting in the lake. Since it was windy tried to slow the shutter speed as much as I could (ISO 50, f/16, 1/8).

I switched to my 300mm + 1.4x II to get this:

I’m really on the fence with these though. How about you? I’d like to see your feedback/comments….
