Moon and Flag Over the Shooting Star

Merced Airport

We’ve been driving by the Merced Regional Airport for years. When you drive in you’re greeted by a static Lockheed P-80 “Shooting Star”, and the flag flying above. This time the moon was visible in the same scene. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera. Since the full moon wasn’t until Wednesday, I knew I had one more day to capture the moon and the surroundings in the daylight.

I came back this afternoon. I took about 15 exposures and I kept two. I really like the colors one the first one. I just wish the moon was higher. I like the moon’s position on the second one better, but by that time the colors were not as pretty. I converted it to black and white.
