It’s that time of year where I try to pick my favorite pictures from 2015. Just like last year, it wasn’t a stellar year, photography-wise. Always hope that 2016 will be a better year, photography-wise. So in the order that I took them (more or less), I present you my favorite 10 pictures of 2015.

I was hoping for a better sunrise at the “Gates of the Valley”, but that didn’t happen. I stopped again in the afternoon and saw some nice light filtering through the trees under El Capitan. Unfortunately by the time I could get a spot, the light there was gone. I managed to get some decent

I had planned on spending the evening around the Merced River, but there was a lot of kids playing in the snow and the fact that visibility was getting worse. Drove up to Tunnel View (again) and spent the rest of the day…until my batteries went dead. Thankfully I was pretty much done shooting.

For years I’ve wanted to capture the Yosemite Valley Chapel in the wintertime. As I drove into Yosemite Valley that very cold morning (2:3am) I first stopped at Tunnel View. Once I was done, I drove back down to the valley and I normally drive by the Chapel, but this time I had to stop.
