First Photos of the New Year

I wasn’t planning on a trip to the local refuge on Friday afternoon. I was planning on a trip on Monday since the kids where off and I could get the car. Since for the past week, it’s been somewhat foggy and overcast…that’s why I wanted to go on Monday. On Friday the sun broke through the clouds in the late afternoon. Since I was about ready to take our dog for her afternoon walk, I just figured I’d wait until Monday. But I kept thinking about the possibility of some nice colors and or evening fog. My wife said “Go” (she took the dog) and I quickly packed my stuff and drove to town. I missed the sun setting by about 5 minutes, but all in all, it was a nice evening!
