I had a two hours to kill until I had to pick up the kids at Awana. I got my camera, tripod and cushion an headed to the Matenkosky NWR….my backyard. I was hoping to capture a better photo of one of the Yellow-rumped Warblers that I’ve been seeing, but no luck. Instead, I saw a pair (male & female) of Lawrence’s Goldfinches….my first!

I love 3, 4, & 5…looks like they were telling you were to go (: I always love your bird photos and hope to sometime get pics as good as yours.
Thanks Donna!
I love birds! And while looking for photographs and information on local bird wildlife, came across your site! All of your photo’s are GREAT!! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more!
Thank you Joanna. Do you live near by?
Read the article about you in Guideposts and just had to look you up! Absolutely stunning photos. Your blog entry and pics about your backyard blind have inspired me to do the same. I love photographing birds in my yard here in Michigan, but am rather limited by my 55-200mm zoom. The blind might help me get closer! Keep up the awesome work and thanks for sharing some of your “secrets”! Your blog will become a regular stop for me.
Thanks Bill. Glad you enjoyed the DYI Blind article and hope it works for you!
