I am SOOO not a morning person! Even last year when I took the family for an overnight trip to Lee Vining, I slept in. Of course later on, I wished I would have gotten up early to photograph Mono Lake.
This trip I finally got up around 4:15 AM and drove down to the Mono Lake visitor center. As I sat there for a few minutes, I realized the Tufas were NOT at the visitor center. Luckily I remembered where they were and drove down to the South Tufa State Reserve with enough time to get some decent sunrise pictures.
Had to stop on the road to capture the pre-sunrise sky.

I like these Mike.
Those are stunning, particularly the 2nd and 3rd pics!
I’m not a morning person either but it looks like it was well worth the effort. Great job Mike!
I am NOT a morning person either, I like to take nature photos too… I have alot of sunset photos, and lots of beautiful pictures I took while visiting Glacier Nat. Park.
