The kids had a half-day at school, so we packed up a few things and drove out to one of our favorite locations, Hornitos California. The kids like it because there is a playground and they can walk the streets and not get hit by a car. I like it because of the old houses.
We fist stopped at the Saint Catherine’s Church. We walked around the old graveyard a bit. Didn’t take any photos here, just wasn’t “inspired” I guess.
As we drove down the hill, I saw a Turkey walking around. I had to stop and grab my camera.
Why Did the Turkey Cross the Road?

Since the kids ALWAYS have to walk down the street and check out the local store, I decided to stay by the car. I saw this lone tree earlier when I was at the church but it just didn’t “work”. Maybe it was boredom or just looking at that tree from a different location, but it seem to “fit” this time. Seeing a few Turkey Vultures soaring above really helped complete the scene.
