Mammoth Peak, Yosemite NP

Mammoth Peak with Snow

I missed getting up to the high country last year, so when Tioga Pass opened up I made sure I was there. Took me a few weeks to get up there, but thankfully there was still plenty of snow and ice there. My normal plan is to get up around 1am and photograph sunrise and sunset and go home. I was there for sunrise and once the sun was to bright, I found a shady spot to rest. On one of my moving to a different location, my car won’t start. Just great. We are scheduled to leave on vacation in a few days (renting a car) and I didn’t need another expense. If I got the car stated I would just leave for home. I finally started and I went home, pulling into the driveway around 5pm.

Despite having to leave early, it was nice to be there for a few hours and I managed to get a few nice pictures too.
