Waterfalls at Washburn Point
Went up to Washburn Point to hopefully shoot the rising Moon. Since I got there early, I milled around looking for photo ops. I recently shot Nevada and Vernal Falls from Glacier Point so I didn’t plan on shooting them again. As I was sitting in the car resting I could see a “rainbow” starting […]

Sentinel Rock and Falls
Doing my early morning rounds around Yosemite Valley I specifically wanted to stop at Cathedral Rocks because I missed it my last trip. Before Cathedral there is Sentinel Rock. Wasn’t planning on stopping, but because there was a small pond in the meadows, I thought it would be a nice reflection shot. The light wasn’t […]

Morning Light on Cathedral Rocks
Drove up to the Yosemite to do two things, capture Cathedral Rocks in the morning light and capture the rising moon. I had clouds for most of the day but glad to see some light this morning before the clouds obscured the valley.

Pictures from Glacier Point
After meeting up with my new photographer-friends from Facebook, we drove up to Glacier Point after lunch. It was nice to see some clouds hovering over Half Dome. Heads in the Clouds

First Outing of 2017
It’s been a very long time since I’ve been out taking photos of landscape or nature stuff. Been wanting to get out to my local refuge since the beginning of the year, but couldn’t for one reason or another. We’ve had some recent storms, so I told myself that I had to get out there […]

Revisiting Clouds Over the Kuna Crest
As I was going through my archives I came across this one from a few years ago called Clouds Over the Kuna Crest. I’ve always liked it, but I thought I’d re-process it and leave it un-cropped this time. Hope you like them.

Moon Over Mt. Clark, Gray Peak and Mt. Starr King
As I mentioned on my last entry, Gray Peak and the Moon, I had some issues with my 300mm lens. Once the moon was farther away, I switched to my 70-200 so I could capture Mt. Clark, Gray Peak and Mt. Starr King, and of course the moon.
