With Tioga Pass opening last week, I finally got the opportunity to make it up before the snow melted and the mosquitoes moved in. I went to bed at 9pm so I could get a few hours of sleep before I drove the 3 hour trip to the Tuolumne Meadows area to photograph “something” at dawn. I had an idea of stopping at Dana/Gibbs View for my sunrise location, and when I saw the crescent moon over the mountains, that settled it…I’m staying.
Sunrise wasn’t epic, but I got some nice keepers and more importantly, I had an old backpacking-friend stopped by that morning. We haven’t seen each other for almost 10 years.
In the next few days, I’ll post some more pictures from my trip.
