Revell's 1/32 Scale F4U-1A Corsair

Old Plastic Models Found!

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to find my old plastic models. Specifically, I was trying to find my favorite airplane, the F4U-1A Corsair…the ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ made by Revell. I found some of my plastic car models, some die-cast airplanes, but the box containing my Corsair has eluded me.

Last week I found some of my old slides I took of some of my models using my dad’s old Pentax camera. Two of the slides was my beloved Corsair, two were of the DeHavilland Mosquito B Mk IV, and two of a Porsche 911.

Well, I went back into the shed for the third time on Tuesday afternoon. I dug through the boxes, again. I saw a box that I didn’t remember looking through, mainly because there was some stuff on the top. I moved the stuff (papers, foam stuff I think), and “Jackpot”! I see a blue wing. It was my Corsair, along with most of the other plastic models I built “back in the day”!

Most of them need a “restoration”, like broken landing gears, antennas, etc, but when I fix them, I will re-shoot them and post them. These were the slides I took around 35 years ago…
