Yosemite Valley from Denair, CA

Yosemite Valley from Denair, CA

Who knew?!? I didn’t think it was possible to see Yosemite Valley from the central valley, but I was wrong…first time for everything 😉 !

Thanks to Tony Immoos (and others) I finally got a decent picture of Yosemite Valley (Half Dome, Clouds Rest etc) from Hall Road in Denair California, over 60 miles away. Thanks to “Brandon”, here’s the location using Google Map.

Since my kids go up to Keyes every Tuesday, I brought my camera. I couldn’t see any landmarks at 9:30 this morning, but the return trip I was able to take this picture at 1:43 PM. I used my Canon 5D, 300mm f/4L and 1.4x II. I just cropped some of the sky off.

I can sleep now…I’m now a believer!

I have been living in Denair, CA for almost 30 years and my favorite part is being able to view the Sierras from Santa Fe. This picture is absolutely a favorite of mine and I hope to purchase a canvas of this for my home someday. Thank you!
