Pictures Published in Guideposts Magazine

In the January issue of Guideposts, page 58 called Into the Beauty, I have an article about me which features some of my pictures and a short video. I wasn’t looking forward to the live interview mainly because of my stroke issues, but all and all, I think it went well.

The magazine should be on sale now, but you can read it online, minus the pictures, here: Finding God Through His Camera Lens.

Mike is a Central Valley California landscape and nature photographer whose subjects include scenes from Merced County, Yosemite, SeKi, and the eastern Sierra. He is currently living in Atwater, CA.

Mike, your photographs and posts always amaze me. We were out of town, doing New years with ol Zeke and Marcy, so I haven’t gotten my Mag issue yet but I’m looking forward to it.

    Hi Mike,
Just read you story in Guideposts and had to come find your website. I think you’re who I want to be when I grow up…..well, maybe without the fused knees and at almost 61 I’m supposed to be grown up already. Love your photos. I looked through your backyard pics of the birds. Makes me want to get a better camera and learn how to use something besides a point and shoot because those are exactly the kind of photos that I want to take! Keep the faith and good luck to you!

  7. Hi Mike, Just read your article in Guideposts and am now checking out your website! I love your story and your work! God bless you and keep doing what you’re doing!! Deut. 30:9, “And the Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in every work of your hand.”

  8. Unlike most of the others that have posted here, I’ve known Mike and his work since before the knee problems. He has helped me hike many miles (albeit, vicariously), and for that I will always be grateful.

Mike, you’ve fought a battle most people wouldn’t even think of, and from afar, I’ve seen God open a window where a door had closed. The old saying, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going,” and words like determination and perseverance, must have been penned just for you. I’ve watched your work get better and better over the years, and look forward to what you’ll show us in the future.

I’m proud to call you my friend, and I pray God will continue to bless you in ways neither of us can imagine.

  9. Where’s that blushing emoticon…LOL!

  10. The door may have closed in your hiking in the high country Mike, but God gave you the gift of photography.
