Scale Models of My F4U-1A Corsairs

I’ve repaired my 1/72 scale and 1/32 scale F4U-1A Corsairs that I built when I was a kid….some 35+ years ago. You can see the pictures I scanned here: ‘Old Plastic Models Found!‘.Had fun photographing them these last few evenings. I used my Canon 5D, 70-200mm f/4L, and my Kenko 12mm, 20mm, and 36mm extension…

I finished repairing my 1/72 scale Fokker Dr.I Triplane a few days ago. Set up my “studio” in the backyard and took a few photos of it, and also my Sopwith Camel together this afternoon. This time I used my 70-200mm f/4L lens as well as my 12mm, 20mm and/or 36mm Kenko extension tubes.

  • My 1/72 Scale Sopwith Camel Plastic Model

My 1/72 Scale Sopwith Camel Plastic Model

I recently found most of my plastic airplane models in a box in the shed. Most of them have some damage, like broken landing gears, propellers etc. Some of the broken parts are missing. After 35+ years, my Revell’s 1/32 scale Sopwith Camel is 100% intact. I used a strand of wire to add the…

    Old Plastic Models Found!

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to find my old plastic models. Specifically, I was trying to find my favorite airplane, the F4U-1A Corsair…the ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ made by Revell. I found some of my plastic car models, some die-cast airplanes, but the box containing my Corsair has eluded me. Last week…

    Going to Church

Our church has been undergoing a major renovation for over a year now. We have a new roof, new paint, removed some trees and made a new steeple. Since I’m also the our church’s webmaster, I thought I’d go out and take some new photos for the bulletin and website. In the morning I had…

  • A Half Day at Point Lobos

A Half Day at Point Lobos

On Saturday morning 22 people piled into 4 cars for a day at Point Lobos State Reserve. It was our church’s youth group day, so photography wasn’t the top priority. We got there around 9:30, and we had reservations in Monterey at 1pm for lunch. That gave us about 2.5 hours. Not a lot of…

An American Beaver at the Grasslands

I stopped by the Great Valley Grasslands State Park Thursday morning on my way to my appointment at Stanford. When I first walked to where I thought I would shoot the sunrise, I heard splashing and saw the occasional head or tail above the water. I didn’t plan on taking any photos of the Beavers…
